Organization

An Organization is the highest-level entity within the FNBNext ecosystem. It represents the legal and financial parent account that owns one or more restaurant brands.

Core Concepts

The Organization serves as the primary administrative container. Its key responsibilities include:

  • Account Ownership: The Organization is the ultimate owner of the FNBNext subscription and is responsible for billing and payments.
  • User Management: It contains the master list of all users (staff accounts). Permissions can then be assigned to these users on a per-brand basis, allowing a single user account to access multiple brands if needed.
  • Brand Ownership: An Organization can own multiple distinct Brands. This allows a single holding company to manage a diverse portfolio of restaurant concepts from one centralized account.

Billing & Subscription Management

The Organization level handles all financial aspects of your FNBNext account:

  • Payment Responsibility: The Organization is billed for all Brand usage, subscription fees, and additional services
  • Cost Allocation: Usage costs can be tracked per Brand for internal cost allocation and budgeting
  • Subscription Tiers: Different Organizations may have different feature sets and limits based on subscription level
  • Invoice Management: Centralized billing with detailed breakdowns by Brand and service type

User Roles & Permissions

Users are managed at the Organization level but assigned specific permissions per Brand:

  • Organization Admin: Full access to all Brands, billing management, and user administration
  • Brand Manager: Complete access to specific Brands including menu design, analytics, and settings
  • Menu Designer: Menu management permissions only, focused on product and pricing setup
  • Operations Staff: Limited operational access for order management and basic reporting
  • Read-Only User: View-only access for stakeholders who need visibility without edit permissions

Security & Compliance

  • Data Isolation: Each Organization's data is completely isolated from others at the database level
  • Audit Logging: All administrative actions are logged with user attribution for compliance and security
  • Access Controls: Role-based permissions ensure users only access data they're authorized to see
  • Compliance Support: Features to support GDPR, PCI DSS, and other regulatory requirements

Use Cases

This structure is designed for maximum flexibility, catering to a wide range of business models:

  • Restaurant Groups: A holding company like "Global Food Group, Inc." can be the Organization, owning distinct Brands like "Burger King" and "Pizza Palace."
  • Franchise Operations: A master franchisor can be the Organization, with each franchisee's brand managed underneath it.
  • Individual Entrepreneurs: A single restaurant owner can have an Organization that contains just one Brand. In this simple case, the Organization and the Brand may represent the same business entity.

The Organization provides the foundational structure for multi-tenancy, ensuring that all subsequent data, from menus to orders, is neatly compartmentalized under the correct business entity.

  • Brand - The restaurant concept container owned by the Organization
  • Environment - Development and production instances within each Brand
  • Menu System - Complete menu architecture managed at the Brand level
