Brand
A Brand is the central container for a complete and distinct restaurant concept. This is the entity that customers recognize and interact with.
Each Brand is a self-contained universe, owning its entire menu architecture, operational logic, and customer data.
Key Attributes of a Brand
- Unique Identity: A Brand has its own name (e.g., "Burger King"), logo, and visual identity that is applied across all customer-facing channels like kiosks, mobile apps, and web ordering.
- Menu Ownership: Each Brand owns its entire Menu Architecture. This includes all
Master Products,Menus,Categories,Collections, andModifiersetups. A menu designer for one Brand cannot see or edit the menu of another. - Staff Access Control: An
Organization's users are granted specific roles and permissions within a Brand, ensuring secure access. - Regional Binding: For optimal performance and data compliance, each Brand is typically bound to a single cloud region (e.g.,
us-east-1,eu-west-2). All data for that Brand resides within that region.
Regional Binding & Data Residency
Regional binding provides several important benefits:
- Performance Optimization: Data stored close to your primary market ensures optimal speed for customer-facing applications
- Compliance Requirements: Ensures data residency requirements are met for regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and local data protection laws
- Disaster Recovery: Regional backups and failover capabilities protect against data loss
- API Latency: Reduced latency for your applications, integrations, and customer experiences
- Jurisdiction Control: Maintains legal and operational control within specific geographic boundaries
Brand Configuration
Each Brand maintains its own operational settings:
- Timezone: Default timezone for operations, reporting, and scheduled tasks
- Currency: Primary currency for pricing, transactions, and financial reporting
- Tax Settings: Regional tax configuration including rates, exemptions, and calculation methods
- Business Hours: Default operating hours used across locations and for automated systems
- Contact Information: Brand-specific support contact details and customer service information
- Legal Information: Business registration details, licenses, and compliance documentation
Menu Architecture Ownership
Each Brand owns its complete Menu System, including:
- Master Products: Inventory items and base ingredients unique to this Brand
- Menu Items: Customer-facing products with Brand-specific pricing and presentation
- Modifier Groups: Customization options tailored to this Brand's offerings and customer preferences
- Collections: Marketing and promotional groupings specific to Brand strategy
- Categories: Brand-specific menu organization and customer navigation structure
Menu data is never shared between Brands, ensuring complete isolation and customization freedom. This allows each Brand to maintain its unique identity, pricing strategy, and customer experience without any cross-contamination.
The Login & Selection Flow
To manage a specific Brand and Environment, the user follows a clear, top-down selection process in the FNBNext Console:
- Log In: The user logs into their FNBNext account, which is associated with one or more
Organizations. - Select Organization: If the user belongs to multiple Organizations, they first select which one they want to work within.
- Select Brand & Environment: The console then displays a list of all
Brandswithin that Organization. Under each Brand, it lists the availableEnvironments(e.g., Production, Staging). The user must select a specific Environment within a Brand to proceed.
This selection process (e.g., Brand: "Burger King", Environment: "Staging") sets the entire context for the session.
The Brand Dashboard
Once a Brand and Environment have been selected, the user enters the Brand Dashboard. This is your central hub for all operational and strategic setup within that chosen context.
From the dashboard, you can:
- Design and manage menus.
- Create promotions and collections.
- View sales analytics and reports.
- Manage the
Locationsthat belong to the Brand.
All actions performed in the dashboard—like updating a menu item's price—will only affect the environment you selected upon entry (e.g., Staging). To make a change to your live restaurant, you would need to switch your context to the Production environment.
